The Carlson Law Firm Invites Community Out to Celebrate in Family-Friendly Event to Raise Funds for Central Bell Fire & Rescue
Very few law firms operating at a national level can say they have humble origins in Killeen, Texas. However, this is exactly the story of The Carlson Law Firm.
Carlson Cares celebrated the monumental occasion by hosting an event at the firm’s Killeen location on Oct. 2. The firm offered games, prizes, free dessert, and a chance to dunk an attorney. In addition, the firm raffled off a $1,000 Kalahari gift card to our lucky winner Kelly S. All proceeds raised from the raffle benefitted local volunteer firefighter organization Central Bell Fire & Rescue.
Since opening its doors in October 1976, The Carlson Law Firm has expanded from a single office in Killeen with a handful of attorneys to 16 locations nationwide and more than 40 attorneys. The law firm has three locations in the heart of Central Texas—Killeen, Temple and Waco. Just in 2021 alone, the firm has opened two new locations—one in Kerrville and one in Baytown.
The firm’s Managing Partner Craig Carlson recognizes that the firm’s success is due in large part to the Central Texas community.
“We knew that at the 45-year milestone, we had to celebrate with the Killeen community with our friends, family and neighbors,” Carlson said.
“As a community-focused law firm, when we started planning for this year’s Party With a Purpose, we knew that we wanted to find a way to celebrate the community that has been the foundation of our growth and continued success in helping Texans in need of legal assistance,” Chief Operating Officer Lisa Griffin said.
The firm is thankful for the continued support from locals who see The Carlson Law Firm as more than a law firm.
“We want our communities to see the service we do as an extension of the legal help we offer,” Griffin said. “We are also a resource for many families and nonprofit organizations like Central Bell Fire & Rescue who may need a little extra help throughout the year.”
In 2018, The Carlson Law Firm launched its own charitable program, Carlson Cares, to grow the efforts the firm makes to reach vulnerable populations. Through Carlson Cares, the firm hosts a Party With a Purpose and volunteer days in each of its locations.
In the past, the firm has hosted several events to benefit the greater Killeen area, including a blood drive and a car seat check. In addition, the firm’s employees have volunteered at various organizations in the Killeen-community including Families in Crisis and the Killeen Food Pantry.
“After retiring from the military, Central Texas became my home,” Carlson said. “Like so many in the Killeen, Temple and Belton area, my wife, who is also a veteran, and I chose to plant roots and raise our family here. It means a lot to us that we’re able to celebrate this milestone and put together an event like this to raise money for these volunteer firefighters. We’re blessed to be able to celebrate like this with a community that has embraced, accepted and supported us.”
Carlson’s Birthday Blowout marks the start of Carlson’s Season of Giving. Nominations for Carlson Cares Christmas Miracle open on Monday, Oct. 4 and will run through Oct. 15. This will be the firm’s fourth year making Christmas bright for families through our Christmas Miracles.
