On Nov. 18, The Carlson Law Firm’s Bryan law office blessed 108 families in need of help putting a Thanksgiving meal on the table this year with our Thanksgiving Blessing Baskets.
From Nov. 1-9, the firm collected submissions from hundreds of individuals and families. Winners were contacted on Nov. 14-16, and our Bryan office staff handed out the baskets on Nov. 18.
According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, the cost of a classic Thanksgiving feast is up by 20% over last year’s average. Each basket contained:
- HEB gift card to cover the cost of a turkey
- Box of Stuffing Mix
- Package of Mashed Potato Mix
- Two Canned Vegetables
- Gravy Mix
- Dinner Rolls
- Pie Crust
- Pie Filling
In addition to their Blessing Baskets, families with children also received a book to assist with childhood literacy.
“Our goal is to do everything we can to have a positive impact on our community,” said Managing Partner Craig Carlson. “This year, there has been an enormous rise in those who need food assistance. We hope our Blessing Baskets have given families a much-needed financial break during the holiday season.”
The Carlson Law Firm has been giving Blessing Baskets to families in the Bryan-College Station area since 2018. The annual event was part of the firm’s flagship year of Carlson Cares, the charitable arm that invests in our communities in meaningful ways.
