Carlson Law Firm Hosted Car Seat Inspection for Killeen Area
KILLEEN, Texas– On the sunny Saturday morning of March 25, 14 Killeen families were the recipients of brand-new car seats to protect and meet the needs of their children while traveling on the road. The Carlson Law Firm’s charitable program, Carlson Cares, hosted a car seat inspection event at the firm’s principal office to help Killeen parents and caregivers ensure that their child is safely buckled.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, car crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13. The installation and right car seat choice are important to ensure a child’s safety while traveling on the road. To help combat the issue, The Carlson Law Firm invited Killeen parents and caregivers to learn the best practices of car seats for their child’s height and weight.
The car seat inspection experts were able to help out 35 families ensure their child were seated and buckled correctly in their seats. With the help of the assistance and education provided by these technicians, families drove away with their children as safe and secure as possible.
“Two out of three children don’t have adequate safety when it comes to their seatbelts,” said Managing Partner Craig Carlson. “By hosting this event in our Killeen area, we wanted to help raise awareness among our community members regarding safety measures to ensure we are protecting our children as much as possible from injuries.”
In addition to the 14 car seats given to families within the Killeen community, Carlson Cares donated 19 car seats to Texas A&M AgriLife, an organization dedicated to providing valuable traffic safety education and resources throughout Texas.
Apart from the seat belt inspections, Carlson Cares hosted games, cupcakes from local business Cupcake Avenue, and a chance for one lucky child to win a $100 gift certificate to Urban Air through a coloring contest.
“Unfortunately, working at a personal injury law firm, we see a lot of tragedies come into our office for help after they experience a car accident,” case manager Jennifer Campos said. “Hosting this event helps us prevent injuries with the right protection, especially with the most vulnerable individuals in our community. We can’t thank our community members enough who came out to help with our mission.”
