TEXAS- The Carlson Law Firm is proud to announce the two recipient winners of the Carlson Cares Scholarship 2023. Both recipients will be receiving $1,500 scholarships to support their higher education costs.
Diego Rivera from IDEA Bluff Springs College Preparatory will attend Texas A&M University College Station, and Valeria Macedo from Weiss High School will attend the University of Texas in Austin. Both students demonstrate the importance of resilience, work ethic, leadership, and leading with the heart in all that they do.
“We are so proud of all the graduating seniors who shared their stories with us,” said Managing Partner Craig Carlson. “Both recipients demonstrated characteristics the firm values in community members. However, the selection process wasn’t easy, as we received an influx of submissions throughout Texas. ”
With the large number of scholarship submissions Carlson Cares received, the firm decided to recognize a couple of Runner-ups, including Quentin Vega, Abril Dominguez-Baca, Victoria Sedillo, Alyssa Fulmer, Kenia Quintanilla, and Holden Aramburu.
To be considered for The Carlson Law Firm’s Carlson Cares scholarship, each applicant had to submit a 300-500 word essay or 2-3 minute video responding to one of the three prompts provided. Further eligibility requirements included the following:
- Must be a high school senior for the 2022-2023 school year
- Enrolled in a Texas school
- Must be headed to a Texas university or college for the 2023-2024 school year
- Submit an online application through the scholarship form
- Submit proof of enrollment
- Submit an unofficial transcript
“As a firm, we value the pursuit of higher education but recognize the financial burden it may place on families,” said Carlson. “Therefore, we feel lucky to have such talented students across the state of Texas share their stories with us and allow us to help and recognize the hard work they have done through the Carlson Cares scholarship.”
