The Carlson Law Firm Plans to Help 300 WISD Students With School Supplies
As part of its Carlson Cares initiative, The Carlson Law Firm will host its annual Party With a Purpose Backpack Giveaway to provide free backpacks and school supplies for students in the Waco area from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on July 15 at the firm’s Waco office located at 2420 I-35 S.
“We do this event early enough so that families know ahead of time what school supplies they don’t have to worry about,” Waco Partner Dominic Braus said.
The firm anticipates giving away 300 backpacks after an unprecedented turnout of over 400 students and their families last year.
“In previous years, our goal was to hand out 150 backpacks,” Braus said. “But after the turnout last year, we realized the need in our community was much greater, so we’ve doubled our efforts.”
The Carlson Law Firm firm staff will be handing out Waco ISD-approved clear backpacks filled with the following supplies:
- 4 folders
- 4 composition notebooks
- 3 spiral notebooks
- 2 glue sticks
- 1 pack of paper
- 1 pair of scissors
- 1 10-ct. of markers
- 1 12-ct. of pencils
- 1 12-ct. of colored pencils
- 1 box of crayons
- 1 pack of erasers
*Backpacks will be limited to 3 per family, while supplies last. Children must be present to receive a bag.
In addition to the free school supplies giveaway, attendees can enjoy free Kona Ice, games, prizes, inflatable ax throwing, inflatable basketball and the ever-popular Dunk an Attorney Dunk Tank. Additionally, Chick-Fil-A will be on site giving away goodies.
