[LUBBOCK, TX] – Carlson Cares, the charitable initiative of The Carlson Law Firm, continued its holiday tradition in West Texas by hosting the 5th annual Toys-to-Go Drive-Thru event on Dec. 12. They welcomed hundreds of local families for an evening filled with generosity, celebration and festive fun.
Held at The Carlson Law Firm’s Lubbock office on Quaker Avenue, the drive-thru format allowed families to safely participate while conveniently enjoying a personal holiday interaction, including a special visit with Santa Claus along the decorated route.
This year’s Toys-to-Go event featured a gingerbread theme, with the drive-thru experience transformed into a warm and welcoming holiday moment children and parents could share.
Attorneys and staff from The Carlson Law Firm dressed up in festive costumes and greeted families with compassionate smiles. They wanted to create an atmosphere to make every child feel celebrated.
“The Toys-to-Go Drive-Thru has become one of our favorite traditions in Lubbock,” said Craig Carlson, managing partner of The Carlson Law Firm. “Being able to give back in a way that’s fun, accessible, and meaningful for families is what Carlson Cares is all about.”
Within two hours, volunteers of Carlson Cares distributed 425 gifts to children across the Lubbock community. As part of the gingerbread theme, children received specially prepared gift boxes containing a Little Debbie snack, a Yoohoo drink, and a light-up bracelet, adding an extra touch of holiday magic to the experience.
Each child also received a beanie to stay warm during the winter season, while adults were gifted Christmas ornaments as a holiday keepsake from the evening.
Nicholas Merz, an attorney in the firm’s Lubbock office, emphasized the importance of creating joyful moments for children during the holidays.
“We love creating experiences that make kids feel seen and celebrated,” Merz said. “For many families, these small moments can mean a great deal.”
The Toys-to-Go Drive-Thru is part of The Carlson Law Firm’s broader commitment to community service through Carlson Cares. Each year, the firm hosts holiday events and service projects across Texas, including Christmas Miracle, with the goal of supporting families and strengthening the communities it serves.
