WACO, TX — As the 2021 school year approaches, Carlson Cares in Waco is hosting a back-to-school bash where staff from The Carlson Law Firm will hand out backpacks filled with school supplies on Saturday, August 14.
Families can bring their school-aged children to The Carlson Law Firm’s Waco office located at 3919 W. Waco Dr. for free school supplies.
“Every year when we do these events, the goal is to make the biggest positive impact possible for populations in our community who need it most,” Carlson Law Firm attorney Dominic Braus said. “Last year, we gave back to our neighbors and friends through our snack pack drive-thru giveaway to help combat childhood hunger during the summer, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, this year, students will be returning to in-person learning and we want to make sure every family sends their students back with the tools needed for success.”
Students who attend the event will get backpacks filled with grade-appropriate school supplies such as notebooks, crayons, markers, colored pencils, and other items needed for the 2021-2022 school year. In addition, families can enjoy carnival-style games, a chance to win a membership to the Cameron Park Zoo, and a chance to dunk a Carlson Law Firm attorney. Radio stations 94.5 The Beat1 and 107.3 La Mejor will be broadcasting live.
“We understand that getting school supplies could be another expense on families, and we want to lift that burden off of their shoulders,” Braus said. “We hope that by doing this backpack drive families in the Waco area will get a head start on the new school year.”
Backpacks will be given while supplies last. Children must be present to receive a backpack, and backpacks will be limited to three per family.
